So I've been riding her daily about 80 miles round trip for the last month problem free. Yesterday morning I fire her up and get ready to leave after a 5 min idle and she dies. After a few attempts I switch bikes and leave.

I have the day off so I started trouble shooting. The first problem....the positive battery thermal cable was loose. I tighten it and throw on a charger as she was struggling. After 5 min I try to start and boom all is well. I let her idle for 5 then remove the charger and she instantly starts slowly loosing power until death.

My first thought is alternator. But there's also a clicking that sounds like a turn signal coming from the "relay box" under the tank. It does this when the key is turned in the on position if the bike is off AFTER I press the kill switch at the end of a ride. It's been doing that for months on and off

You guys have any ideas before I start the alternator removal for test process?

Why are you letting it idle for five minutes? All you're doing is fouling the spark plugs.

From the 1995 K75 Rider Manual:

If you start a K and let it idle you will drain the battery. Unless you rev it to 2,000rpm to get the charge light to go out and enable the alternator to charge the battery. If you simply start and leave it tick over it will draw down current from the battery and also soot up the spark plugs.

If the battery terminal was loose is it possible you have some bad earths?

If you can, use a meter to check the alternator is not actually charging the battery. A bad connection can prevent it charging the battery. Also get the battery checked and eliminate that as a potential problem.

Also, never disconnect the battery while the engine is running. It destroys some of the electrics.
