Any Sydney based Forum guys interested in having the use of this 120,000km unregistered machine till early January 2015. I have just bought it sight unseen from somebody near Hornsby. He says it has hardly been used in the last 12 months but he was able to start it when he put a new battery in the thing. If an interested party with means to collect plus available garage space, wants to do me the favour of riding it and keeping the battery charged, then I am happy to pay for 6 months CTP and rego plus blue slip / pink slip (whatever other slip you have over there on the East coast of this wonderful big island).

I am busy getting my 100RT back to Perth from Newcastle via Melbourne, Great Ocean Road (it is GREAT by the way), Adelaide and Esperence.

I want to ride the 1100RS back to Perth via the (GREAT) Northern route so may need to wait until after the cyclone season and the hot weather has abated.

Then I will need a modified K75 for a trip across the middle and we will be able to move on to South America (just dreaming - grand kids are imminent!)

Any takers please PM me.

Cheers,

Rawdon

I accepted the challenge and picked up Rawdon's new bike.

Actually I had help. Mr Klompy kindly provided the trailer. And the tow. And the straps.

Got the bike home whre it has been sitting mostly unused but not unloved.

Owner said bad fuel. Turns out bad fuel pump connection. Deoxit and a bit of a twiddle with a sharp stick in the right place tightened up the connection and off she went.

So I put on a number plate I had lying round and rode to work today. 25km round trip.  I felt like an outlaw biker.

Turned off the bike, on the side stand and off to work. Tried to start this arvo and no fuel pump. Twiddled the wires and still no pump.
Off the side stand onto the centre stand and off she went.
Turns out I had put my glove under the stand so off the centre onto the side stand and she died instantly.
Is the 1100 (92) that closely tied into the side stand switch?

Just as a side note, I think it looks good with a low seat. AND I can get both feet flat on the ground at the lights.

I wonder if I can do a deal?

⭐ Hi Rossko - if you want that bike you are never going to have a better chance than now (before I see / ride the thing). Offer me what I paid for it and it would be churlish of me to refuse after what you have done on my behalf.

Tempting offer.

Mentioned it to my wife, you know, just a casual passing comment.

She told me there is no way I am spending $2000 on another motorbike.

I tried to explain that they like to be grouped and 3 is obviously better than 2.

At least it was not an outright no.

See I'm a glass half empty guy.

I hear that as 'you cannot spend more than $1999 on a bike'

sounds like a bargain there Rosskko.
listening to the local chaps on the airwaves this morning ,

" men will spend $2 on a $1 item they need,
women on the other hand , will spend $1 on a $2 item they don't need , but claim it is a bargain".

 you know you need to...........

They all say things like that. Just ignore it and grab it, then await that little bit of flap we all get when we are happy
