The torque specs for the lower triple clamp for the K100 are 44nm or so.....

I momentarily forgot that I have an 1100 front end on my 100....and doing a full service including checking the tightness of important nuts and bolts.....

I snapped a bolt off in the lower triple clamp...  Embarassed    Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad     Embarassed

I cant find the correct torque specs for the 1100 lower clamp bolts....

Surely its more than 15nm (same as the top)

It's also 15 Nm, why do you think it must it be more than the top bolts?

Simply because the lower ones on the 100 are 44nm (if I'm not mistaken).

On different bolt diameters usually also a different torque is used.

Thanks Inge. The 1100 manual could be a little clearer on the topic....

I didnt realise the lower bolts on the 100 were of a different dia, as I dont have one here to look at.

Anyways, luckily the end of the bolt had poked its head out the back side of the hole in the lower clamp....so I cut a slot in it with a hack saw and screwed it out with a flat head screw driver....lucky me

In the online part manuals you can look up the bolt size.

When in doubt search a standard bolt torque table, and choose a standard
quality....6.8......then your usually close....and can check it out later to be shure.
