my name is Jef and i'm from Belgium
i'm a train mechanic and a bmw K enthusiast
at the moment i own 8 K-bikes (5 for parts and a lot of spare parts)
and 1 EML sidecar K100 (currently being rebuild)
i am here to search and share technical knowledge and info

Hi Jef welcome from Oz. Your being a train mechanic reminds me of when I was working for a bike shop and the salesman was trying to sell a 750 Honda four that was to say it politely a heap, he said to the poor customer "it goes like a train mate" then as the guy was mounting to take it for a test ride he turned to me and quietly said "you ever ridden a train chug chug chug".

Hi Jef, and welcome.

Belgium is a bit special for me because my daughter spent a year there (Welkenradt) as a rotary exchange student, prompting my first visit to Europe. She lives in France now, so that visit was the first of many.

Welcome too.

My youngest daughter is in Antwerpen at the moment, until June 2016 studying music. A lovely city.

My grandfather was also a train man, he used to build the steam engines and retired in 1956 as they stopped building them. Happy memories of them and I still love them. But he also loved bikes and I love them too. But I never heard a Honda 750 Four go chug chug chug.....They took a lot of abuse without cracking up. Just like a K100.

Maybe you might get to come over here for a visit....
