Bought this '89 K100 from a friend as an unfinished project, he was going for cafe racer, I'm not keeping it as one though.

Was originally an LT but none of the fairings are with it. ABS bits all gone. Also brake pipes/hoses so need to get some.

Have a cockpit style nose fairing on the way as well as single seat unit. Will be fitting flat bars on risers as I don't like clip ons.

Plan is to try and get it done for spring. Got it running with a new fuel pump and wiring connector.

Welcome here with your K.
Do you want to finish a cacao racer or bring it back to original?

Cheers

Welcome Half Brick,

Hope the rebuild goes to plan - how refreshing to hear of an un-cafe project. Let's hope the PO didn't do anything too drastic. Lots of bits that you'll probably need appear on eBay etc. but getting them to Inverness may come at a premium.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome. There's a box of bits with it, brake calipers are there but will need to get pipes, looks like the front use car style fittings.

I'm planning something like this, may not be to everyone's taste. Will be keeping the standard tank for now.

Welcome HB,

I spent time in Inverness as I had friends nearby and part of the family originated from around there.  Visited Culloden Moor, Clava Cairns, Fort George, etc.

On a wet road from Drumnadrochit I nearly crashed a VFR750 and my 75S has spent time on Highland roads.

Also a friend of Glenmorangie House.

Cheers, Dave.

Hello half brick, glad to see another K is being saved. Reglardless of whether it stays a cafe racer, returned to factory original or an individual design, these bikes were well engineered and its a statement to the original concept designer that so many are being rescued from a life of scrap.

I have spent several happy times in Scotland in various locations from Stranraer to Cromity just above Inverness and have lots of nice memories - I must say though, riding the A9 is certainly character building for anyone brave enough to do it!

Good luck with the bike, look forward to reading your updates on the progress.

Glad to see a few people have been up my way, plenty of nice roads if you want to visit! (A9 notwithstanding)

I have started a project thread for any one that's interested - https://www.k100-forum.com/t10754-custom-project-89-k100-don-t-call-it-a-caf#127388
