Hi, I feel a bit stupid but is there a knack to removing the foot pegs?? I've removed the split pin washer etc but it seems impossible to push out the shaft that hold the peg?

Would guess that the problem is that the pin is stuck because of rust.

Try a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone.....soak the pin several times
and give the mix time to penetrate.....careful with painted parts.

Thanks for the advice I'll try that, the pin rotates fine in the steel bracket , so I guess it must be fused with the alloy peg, Ive tried to remove two so far both have the same problem.

To stop the pin from corroding in the alloy peg, I drilled out the alloy and covered the pin with shrink-on sleeving to provide a barrier.

The picture is from the front pegs, but you can see the idea.

Paul.

In addition to Inge's advice - if that doesn't work, remove the footpeg rubbers and apply a lot of heat. You want the alloy to expand off the steel.

Try giving the pin a tap with a hammer on either end plus some WD40. I reckon that would loosen any binding from corrosion. I regularly go over bits like that with a spray can of lanolin lubericant like Innox.

WelKome to the forum Neil. Can you tell us a little more about your machine. Cheers
