Hey all, I've searched the site but haven't found an answer to my question. I am pulling off the timing chain cover to polish it up. I have read the Hall Sensor needs to be removed from the cover to get the cover off. I haven't taken off the Hall Sensor yet. What I'm wondering is, does the Hall Sensor just bolt back up, or do I need to set it in a certain manner, sort of like the TPS?

Yes, defiantly adjustable, mark it's position with a fine scribe or similar, the finer the mark the better as it is a small diameter unit and a wide mark can easily result in a 1 or 2 degree difference when put back together.

Get yourself a manual mate, this is not a job you want to do without. It comes quite precise and can have big effects on the engine running.

Yes, have one thanks. I posted while at work, no manual available, and I had time to consider the chore.

I previously removed the Hall sensors and re-adjusted them on the mark that I scribed before removal.
Later I checked the timing with a professional timing light and it was dead on the spot.
The best way to mark them is to scribe 2 Vs in opposite direction ( ><) in stead of 2 straight lines (- -).
If your scribing is precise, you may get a maximum of 1/2 of a degree error when re-installing.
I wouldn't worry about such an error (if you have it).

Bert
