:-c: In this post I will endeavour to modify the suspension on a 2004 classic industries ultra lite trailer, I will be changing from the standard rubber block alco suspension to an axle with leaf springs, any info or help will be really really welcome. Pics details swearing and cursing to come,

Active Fabrications is where I get my gear for trailers http://www.activefabrications.com.au/
It may be a fair way south but it is worth the trip.

That looks a good place to get parts Rick, we have a few trailer manufacturers here in Redcliffe, round axle or square, eye to eye or slipper springs ?

Slipper springs, eye to eye make it much higher and an axle 39mm round is quite strong enough.
If you have access to a lathe I will send you drawings on how to make a pipe axle that is heaps strong enough but dont just weld right around the stub where it goes into the pipe or it will just tear out and the wheel falls off.
Before you get the axle made measure the wheel from inside to the flange and the width of the body at widest point which will be at the rear most of the wheel arch on a classic.
If you want drawings on shock mounts give me a yell
