I went for a nice spin on rural Swedish country roads yesterday.
Weather was great and the bike was feeling really well.
Had just serviced it after my holidaytrip to the alps.
After covering about 250 km I had to stop for fuel.
As I put the bike on its centerstand at the fuelpump something just didn`t look quite right.
The lefthand sidepanel was missing....!!!!
The one that covers the battery.
Nothing much to worry about, just have to find a new one.
Can`t imagine how it came loose though,it`s been sitting there for about 95,000 km.
It put an sad end to an otherwise nice day.
I`m feeling a bit robbed off.
Cheers,Wikur.

There are three mounting points on the side covers. The rear mount is a plastic stem that breaks too easily (which I've replaced with a metal stud) and the front two are rubber bushes, one of which, the top, is 'female' and the other, lower one is a small rubber barrel of sorts. If any of these go missing the side cover will disappear quick smart. Motoworks and Motobins both sell these for a reasonable amount. I keep a few as spares in the 'parts department' in my garage.

Perhaps you can locate a decent secondhand one. To buy new is cost prohibitive. Unless you're one of the lucky ones and the GFC has made you extra dosh. Never thought that would happen......... Icon_cool

Shame that
as TWB says works and bins will probably help you
Motorworks.co.uk especially, will have second hand ones
and if the overseas postage isnt too stiff, it may be worth looking into

Theres one on ebay(uk) at the moment. £7.99 + postage.

Three days to go, no bids so far. Afraid I can't add a link, as I'm at work and the computer access is restricted Never thought that would happen......... Icon_mad.

Cheers,
Steve.

There are plenty about on e-bay.
I have drilled a small hole in the bottom corner and slipped a plastic cable tie loosely through to the frame. This allows you to pull it from its sockets and it drops down to access the fuses etc. without completely removing it from the frame. once bitten twice shy.

Both my sidecovers have a discreet zip tie some where to ensure that they can not part company with the bike at any time.
