I was right in the middle of a bus lane when that happened. Not a good place to stop.

Just before anyone queries my use of washers to space out the hydraulic brake switch; they're Dowty washers and not yer standard crush washers. I fell in love with those things the day I fitted a new brake line to a Kawasaki KZ1000. Hours after I'd bled the line and brought the system up to operating pressure, I knocked the banjo and realised to my horror that it was still only finger-tight. There was not a drop of brake fluid to be seen and the brakes worked perfectly. Dowty washers everywhere ever since.
