Hi daveyson here,
Finally succeeded in joining after a few attempts.

From Victoria Australia, I used to ride dirt bikes, then just cars for about twenty five years, then started riding road bikes about five years ago (apparently we're labelled sleepers, and they're after us.)

I was riding cruisers until about a year ago when I got a brick on the road, now I have a brick addiction.

I cruise the net now too, to learn more about bricks and to help when i think i have something useful to add

WelKome to the forum from a long-time ago Victorian, also a Tasmanian & lately a Queenslander.

Typos are common here, as are Typo's - itself a typo. Can a correction be corrected?! I reckon it's due to wanting to spill out our K bike knowledge in such a rush we don't have the time. Either that or we went to OZ schools and weren't paying attention. Ms HottieTeach was wearing a short skirt or somesuch.

Thanks all, I think I've got it now.
I also think the schoolies at OZ schools were paying attention to their favorite teachers but just the wrong parts.

For 25 years I paid no attention to bikes but I'm so glad now that I've got back into it. It feels good, I think
it's the feeling of freedom and escape.

Thanks for your interest Martin, and sharing your tried and true experience. I'm from Broadford, by lucky coincidence our race track is supposed to be the best motorcycle sports facility in Australia.
I've been going to the classic races there,  watch the odd race,  have a look through the pits, and even have a sticky beak at the parking lot, there will always be the odd brick there. Last year I saw a K100 there with 430, 000km on the clock. I think their car like characteristics is the reason they can be as reliable as a car.

I'm 56 now but still I have heaps to learn about bikes and computers so l can't post as much as I'd like. Luckily I like learning.

Thanks again, enjoy.

I don't think I have access to signature details yet so my bike is a blue, July1985 K100 vin no. 0090567, it was well maintained by the previous owner but used mostly for dirt riding so doesn't look as good as she is. I ride sealed roads now, I wonder now how I ever used to like getting mud on me when I used to ride dirt bikes.

Went to Queensland once only, couldn't stand the heat, how do you survive it,  especially coming from Victoria. I don't know how anything can survive the heat up there except crocodiles and bricks.

That was 12 years ago,  went to 1770, what a beautiful town and history,  and Harvey bay whale watch,  another special experience. Went up in a kombi and was surprised to see even more kombies there than Victoria and I remember thinking how can these air cooled kombies survive the heat up here in plague proportions.

I used to work in Bass Strait, in winter the wind comes off Antarctica puddles used to freeze on the deck. I got sick of freezing to death. I came up here for a holiday and when we got back to the Latrobe Valley we decided to move. Believe it or not it is actually hotter in the valley than where we live in QLD. And freezing in winter. Easy choice.

Regards Martin.
