good afternoon to all, i hope everybody has had a good and safe xmas.

could i ask for a little advice for my K75s?

after reading various posts about a noise from the r/h side of the engine (on various models) i decided to check out the alternator drive rubbers. hopefully i have posted a picture of the rubbers below. there is debris in the drive cup and the rubbers look worn, am i correct?

also whilst checking the alternator i noticed if i pulled and pushed the drive cup there was a minimal movement but a squeak. there is no noise when just spinning the cup. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Those rubbers don't look too bad to me. As for the squeak: check the securing nut at the bottom of the cup. If that's tight, then there's two bearings inside the alternator. IIRC one is secured in place with a plate (the top/front one?) and the other is an interference fit. I can't see either of those being responsible for the noise, but if the securing plate had worked loose? Anyone? It's not a problem I've had.

thanks for the response, think i'll take it into work ( HGV workshop) and see if one of the techs can take it apart so the bearings can be replaced while its out of the bike.

Axial movement is no big problem, radial movement is....
