After the couple of topics doing the rounds here recently, one on fitting aftermarket heated grips and one on fitting additional lights, I've brewed up the simplest diagrams I could come up with. Both use the alarm connector as the power source; the heated grips one does not touch the existing loom at all and the driving lights one just requires a feed from the high beam (white) wire as a control. As they use the alarm connector, both are fused though fuse 5.

Updated with a third circuit if running dual filament halogen aux lights (or two fog and two spot lights). Update mainly aimed at LT and RT owners with the 50-amp 'police' alternators.

If you are thinking of using the the alarm connection then this little chappie from Tills may be what you are after The K Cable.

I'll grab a couple on my next order with them.

Does anyone have an alternate supplier for the plug used in the "Tills K Cable" please ???
I went to order one from Tills and the freight to Aust was $40 euro
I guess that the plug is used commercially in numerous applications but I have no idea where to find it.

At that price Packo I think I would look at popping the pins out of that white plastic housing and going to Jaycar or similar electronics shop to look for a locally available plug that those pins would fit into. They look like a molex style pin in the photo.

Or just cut off the white plug and fit said locally available plug.

Cheers

Gaz: much research a long time ago pointed to them being a TE Connectivity product - at around AU$3.0 PER PIN!!! That's when I figured out you could punch a Molex 93-thou series into the hole, even though they're a bit of tight fit. I tried Molex 75-thou series too, but they are too small. I guess tills.de are getting them a little cheaper by buying in bulk, but that would explain the relatively high price of the K-cable. You're right - cut the buggers off and crimp something else on.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. For the last 2 years I have been using my own "work around" which entails using tight fitting pins into the holes in the female plug in the relay box and covered in heat shrink, I suppose they will continue their good service until perhaps TacKler puts in his next order.
