I've got this problem. Now most wise men would just turn round and walk
away at that first statement, get a beer from the fridge, turn round and
wait for someone else to offer up an opinion. But not us BMW
aficionados. No sir. We like to dive right in and have a go. You with me
still? Here's how it is:

The wobblemeter and the rectifierstat won't coagulate and keep giving me
the wrong output. I know there should be at least .5mm in clearance
between the trimbulator and oxycetalyeneinjectormuppetfram (I love those
Germans with their amazing compound words!), but this is ridiculous!
I've set and re-set both flux magnifiers, turned that tiny little
ambulator screw in fully, backed it out a half a turn (according to an
'experts' advice), and still the perambulator wails. I need help! I
thought I knew these motorbikes inside and out. In the words of me old
mate Jethro, 'this one's got me stumped.'

Here's a clear picture of the problem. I'm sure a few of you have experienced this very same issue. There's something missing. I know it's right there in front of me. I admit that this time I need help. What colour is that pesky Percocet-a-tron-inhaler button that you're s'posed to tweek!? I can't find it in this maze. Maybe you can offer a kind word or two to the problem. I'm over it.

A kind word or two? Yes: step away, just step away. I thot you were out riding in the heat somewhere? Looks like a boat motor to me... which you likely need being so close to Brissie and all...

Yes TWB
You have certainly got a problem it seems with your wiring but not with the "K".
A wash down with good old Bitter beer of the better quality, not keen on lager, after a while it all comes clear I've found.
What ever you do...don't go pulling your wire.
What a wag.

First, I believe that you misspelled oxycetalyeneinjectormuppetfram! It should be an umlaut over the letter U.

Lets go back to your problem.
If you open the junction box (Just over the flux magnifiers) and follow the red-brown-black wire, you will find the perambulator.

This should be easy for you with your junk yard mechanical experience.
Please don't disappoint us.

Here is a picture of the box if you cannot locate it.

oh! got it ....its the "fretz" ....
get out your micrometer set and adjust it one more "gnats cock " wider

youl be needing special tool 90 234 876 for this

ill bet its taken on moisture (they all do after 24 years ) and i bet you didnt replace the seal with the bmw sticker on it and used one of the cheepies available almost anywhere .
its either that or the copper washer has become unanealed . ...time to cook it up so it goes soft and pliable again .

What do you think would happen if somebody was reading this forum for the first time?
He would think that we are a bunch of senile old people and would search another source of information.
TWB that's was cleaver to ask this question. A bit silly, but relevant to the tech section. Good on you!
In the northern hemisphere we have an arch winter and in the south, you have rain and cyclones. A lot of bikes are at rest. We need a good laugh!

@Charlie99, I've been soft and pliable for ages, mate.

I opened the box and pulled out the harness just to be sure I didn't muck
anything up. In case you're ever having to diagnose these things I
recommend yanking the entire wiring harness out of the bike and then you
can have a proper squiz at it in full sunlight (except those of you in
the UK in Winter, or from September to early June). Here's what it looks
like untangled. I reckon I can get to the bottom of the problem now!
Thanks for all your advice. Ajays, it just needed a good pull afterall. Smile

Before I posted I had a good look at the 'emoticons' and couldn't find one
with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek, so I posted it under humour
instead of tech in case the point was missed. All in fun. Oh, troubles, will ye never cease!? 112350
