Hello from New Zealand. I've just bought a K100LT and am performing a service before I put it on the road. It's looking a bit sad at the moment with the final drive off. I had a K100LT years ago which I used for commuting to and from work, at the time a 100 mile round trip. I'm hoping to use this latest LT to take my sons on bike trips around the South Island of New Zealand. I also have an R80GS (my second GS) which I have owned for many years, and have used to travel Europe and NZ roads. Unfortunately it sits alone in the shed at the moment, due to it needing a timing chain which I can't seem to get round to fixing. I use my DR650 for everything from ferrying the kids around to weekends away on the gravel roads. I'm really looking forward to getting the LT sorted because the kids are getting bigger, and there's not much room on the back of the DR - especially with luggage! Hi JonnyE in Nelson,
Greetings and welcome aboard from the North Island. I bought my K from a shop in Nelson and drove it back up to Auckland a few years back. Nelson is a great spot and has some excellent scenery very close by.
Regards,

Welcome to another Nelson rider. Nice looking bike. I live in the Moutere and have an RT, a bit worse for wear compared to yours though. Is that bike from Wellington by chance?

Thanks for that. I'm still finding my way around the forum - there is heaps of information here. Yes, Nelson is a great place to ride a motorbike. As to where my bike is from - I'm not sure about Wellington. I do know at some point is was registered to someone in Blenheim. Looking foward to getting the final drive sorted and spending some time in the saddle.

Good looking bike Johhny, welcome. I can see a Trans Tasman trip brewing up here. Your bike is way too clean to come over here tho.

Nice buy Johnny, you've got the same dog and machine as me, same colour too! Except the red pinstripe but you paintwork is in much better condition.

I have a great fondness for NZ. Just had my godson from Wellington here for New Year. I'm hoping to bring my own son there in another year or two. I'd love to ride the south island roads on my bike. My memories of them are great. Enjoy the forum.
