Hi all.

I was just wondering about 2 things.

1) There are 2 dials on each side of the fairing and I take it the one on the right shows the battery status but what does the one on the left do ?

2) How long does it take for the fan to kick in when the bike is on idle say round 15 degrees C ?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. What say you jump over to the member's introduction page at some stage and spout off about yourself and your K bike a bit.

The fuel level gauge is the left hand side, usually, the water temperature on the right. Voltmetres (battery/alternator output) might have been an accessory option in your market. The red light on the instrument panel is the common idiot light telling us whether the alternator is putting out enough juice to charge the battery.

The fan temperature switch kicks in, usually, when the temp gauge reaches 4/5ths or so. But this could be determined by allowing the bike to idle on the centre stand for no more than about 10 minutes time. Or set up a fan on the exhaust side and go a bit longer. Alternately, take the bike for a ride in drive time traffic.

Hi Bobby
The fan will start when the temp gets to 103deg C and the ignition will retard at 111 deg C then the Fuel Injection will cut at 113 Deg C and stop the bike.
Its hard to really cook them. Make sure the fan rotates freely by getting a finger in the shark gills on the fairing and you should be able to just touch it enough to give it a flick and rotate it.

Well Thank You all very much and I now believe that my fan might be stuffed like the RT model I had before.
