Welcome to the forum Bill good to have you here.
I presumw the WDMOCis the Western district something for classics and I expect you will be seeing some 83 model K comming through the gates shortly And I still think of mine as a modern bike along with my Z1300 Kawasaki that I have owned since 1979.

We cater for all types of bikes and members
We have about 170 members and they all have multiple bikes

Our members range from young to mid 80's

Queensland is 30 years so when I have the 1300 ready for the road again I can get the red plate which makes having a few older bikes a heap cheaper to keep them on the road.

A big welcome from the Southern Highlands Bill. Say hello to all your members from us, anyone who is prepared to put the hours in on oldies has my admiration. My local veteran club won't let me join til the bike is 30 so have to ride like a new bike till 2015, but they have some magnificent machines.
Nice to hear from you.

Hi Bill, welcome from the northern hemisphere,

Pre 1973 vehicles over here get free road tax, but sadly it's not a rolling date.

And as from November pre 1960 vehicles won't need an MOT test (roadworthiness).

Cheers from just up the road from where your Velo was made,

Paul

Welcome Bill, nice to have another Victorian on the site! Must do the ride again from the big smoke to Warnambool, its a good trip along the coast on the Great Ocean Road, even with the reduced speed limits! Let us know on here if you've got some Big rides planned! cheers.

Bill,

Welcome too from the opposite side.

Its a great site for fun and technical information. Inspiring too.

Over here we get classic tax at 30 years old on cars and bikes. As far as I know there is no limit on use. Its worth a lot on big old cars.

+1

Tell me about it Olaf _ I have a rare old Range Rover 3.5L v8 (doesn't see the light of day too often.) €48 road tax but without vintage/veteran designation it would be a mere €1,683 p.a. :pale: and never see the light of day again!

The Victorian red plate seems very sensible and it's great to get some concession.
