I may do....will look in the morning.....for a while there I went nuts with a busted switch block and relays etc etc etc

Larrikin,are you looking for a new cover for the green starter button?

I had my cover come about 7 years ago on my naked. With the help of a self tapping screw, silicon and a cover button from a hardware store the problem was fixed.

Yo Larrikin as luck would have it I have 2 LH units having given Tackler a RH unit cause he needed one to get back to QLD...will have a look on Sunday with you and see if we can fix something till you can source a part.....I am sure someone would have an ice cream container full of Beemer lectrics....8.30 am at the Macquarie Arms they make a great breakfast at the Cafe across the road....nice folk too.

Larrikin, did you manage to salvage the spring when it popped.
Mine on the LT popped 3 hours from home, spare tape on board, wrapped around the grip a few times, got me home. Was a bugger on the throttle though (letting off). Once home took the spare button from the RT, still working well.
Good work ainsjac, what did you attach the screw to, was the green button still in place?

It was the green cover that popped off. Mick Dyer had look and said it would need replacing.
So the easiest way to do it is replace the whole thing

Klompy we could be next door the the Macquarie Arms.

UK e-bays switch clusters go for about £20. I bid on a pair this week (just because they had colour in the buttons), but missed out, sold for:- LH £12.50, RH £18.

Grover, I had just got the old girl through the rego check....went to start it and it kept "running on" so I went to lift the button up. Well it became so fragile it just fell off........watch for spring. I used a thin self tapper after I got a quote for a replacement (ouch). Silicon to make sure I wasn't shorting things and also to "glue" the new cap on. Oh, I think I may have use a washer as well.
