Hello all!

I'm really happy to be a part of this site. 3 years ago as I was moving south from Connecticut to Tennessee, a good friend of mine gifted me his beat up black 85 k100rs. I had it professionally repaired and absolutely loved riding it during my daily commute. However, last year some knucklehead tried to steal the bike and caused extensive electrical damage which totaled the bike. I really enjoyed that particular make and model and was fortunate to find another black 85 k100rs locally, the only difference being the new bike was in much better condition! So now I have my old bike for (non-electrical) parts and a maintenance manual and have been enjoying figuring out how to work on the bike by myself.

however, ive run into a snag as i noticed today that the bike is leaking coolant. After searching the internet for a solution I stumbled upon a post on this forum indicating that "crazy frog" (bert) had a good solution to the problem. I'm also looking forward to learning anything i can about the bike.

Ben

Welcome Benny you have indeed come to the best place for info and help.
Where is the coolant leaking from? but first it may be best to start a new thread in the engine section about this as threads can take on a life of their own and can go for many pages which is not real good in the intro section.

I am actually having the EXACT same problem as someone in a previous post so I just replied to them to see if they found the solution.

The post also mentioned crazy frog as a resource so I sent him a private message. Ill see what comes from this and will make a new thread if necessary.

thanks for the welcome!
