Hey Guys,

Trying to bring a brick back to life that had an electrical short issue on the Motronic wiring harness with the previous owner. Need a little help with this as electrics are not my strong point!!

The repaired wires that were affected in the old harness (replaced it with a new one) were the solid brown, green/yellow, blue/brown, and black/white. All of these had exposed wiring. I'm hoping that this can help with the troubleshooting portion of getting this bike running.

The bike is turning over and I get smoke with the occasional pop from the exhaust, but that's been it so far. Any help would be great!!!

(Side Note.....what is the three pin plug for in the picture? Haven't been able to see where that plugs in on the bike.)

The 3 pin plug looks like the diagnostics port to me so you dont plug anything in there it is for the very expensive BMW tech to play with and charge you lots of money.

Thanks Rick trying to stay away from those guys as long as possible!

Oh and here's what she looks like in her current state Don't mind the mess.....too much work and too little time to clean the garage.
