Hi....my name is Mike. I live outside Albuquerque on Route 66. I've come into a 1991 K100 from a friend who is terminal and wants his bike to go to someone who will use it and improve it. He got a lot of pleasure from the bike as evidenced by the nearly 100,000 miles on it. I don't know much about this make/model but that's a situation that will resolve. The two other bikes are a 1974 Honda CB750 cafe that is a problem child and a 1969 BSA Thunderbolt 650 which I'm building from a box of parts. I also have a 67 Sunbeam Alpine which I'm installing a Ford 2800 V-6 and T-5 to replace the blown 4 cylinder and doing a ground-up resto. Riding season here is fairly long and staying off the freeway and out of town still yields long and interesting two lanes. I am glad to have forums like K100 to help me unravel it's mysteries.

Welcome to the Knuthaus! If you are anyway handy with the spanners ....and you obviously are, you won't have any problem with the K. when you've covered a few miles on the K you will understand why somany of us are permanently bonded to the marque.

Thanks, folks......I'll be asking some questions (after checking the search function). The Honda goes away once presentable, the BSA is just too deliciously British to part with. But the K is the runner. There is a strong BMW presence on our Turquios Trail and I anticipate taking and giving lots of waves.

You'll find plenty of great advice from this group. I know it's been a great help to me with my first K.
