I thought I would pop this up after meeting so many new faces during the year and a great weekend up north last weekend.

Date for Diary: The Christmas Brunch came up and seems the usual venue, Stradbally Fayre, Saturday 27th December. About 11am to 1pm or so to allow every one travel in daylight and be home in time for family matters.

Same rule as last year, any means of transport rather than miss out because of weather. I think Alex will come along and hopefully Ditte and a cool Estrella too.

I will bring extra Christmas Puddings.


Any K riders visiting over here at Christmas are very welcome too. Its just 6 miles on N80 from Portlaoise J17 on M7.

I missed the off the end of my last post, so it didn't make the sense I wanted it too, Never mind...

I knew there was something fishy about it. Stradbally Fayre does a good fish menu too. Hope we will see you.

Still waiting to find out who draws the standby short-straws for Dec 25-28 and Dec 31/Jan 1st. Murphy says I'm bound to get at least one of them and most likely on the most inconvenient day.

PS. those of you virgin to the Burren roads..one piece of advice...

Slow in, Fast out..never take a blind corner for granted here. Besides that its all good. .
Also, only buy fuel from proper places like Topaz  etc.. it seems like these cheap fuel places have learned to add homeheating oil to petrol, to make a few Squids.. Unfortunately this tends to destroy pistons

Well we still have Saturday free for a  ride out 

Have ridden around Ireland and the Burren before so know what it can be like. Many years ago we had a two week tour of North & South. The weather was at least consistent, well it rained every day. The waterproofs were just thrown in the bin when we got back home. Still had a great time though!

Yes, happy to go for a run on Saturday. We need to arrange a time and meeting point tonight though as I will be away early in the morning, getting back home about lunch time and then be setting off for the ride up to Holyhead. I could chat to some of the BMriders group tomorrow at the Travel Lodge in Holyhead and see if they want to tag along.

I am next door then, moycullen over the hill near the lake..I swim there nearly everyday.

Memories of swimming in the Forty Foot every day after school, but I always found Glendalough lake so cold. You live in a lovely spot and every time I have been up there it was sunshine.

I swim in invern, the Sea( Tra salin).wouldn't go near the lake. see the ted thread..I think were warping the subject of this one..

My name is Magda, I moved to Ireland two months ago and I bought my first bike last Friday...

It is a beautiful vintage BMW K100, which looks a bit as a Russian submarine or a tank, but runs smoothly as an S-Class Mercedes. I have big plans for it.

I can't wait to have it insured & registered and ride!!

I am a newbie, so there is no racing with me for now.

I will watch you & join events once my bike is ON.

I rang to confirm that they are open that day, which they are.

I told them that I'd ring them closer to the day with numbers, so they can put on an extra staff member (and/or kill another pig).

I have had a lot of requests for the Christmas Pudding again........so there will be plenty for all. The Guinness has been bought for it.

 I have just been out for a spin testing the Corbin seat I acquired off Corkboy.

It is a great day and roads are dry around Dublin, so maybe time to also take out the K1.
