Hi Duncan great to see you here. If you start to feel adventurous you will be welcome to pay a visit over our way. We have a gathering in September only a stones throw I mean quick flip of the wrist from the Stranraer to Larne ferry!! You wouldn't regret it!! Check out the Irish Eccentrics posts. A K bike is excellent anti aging material. Enjoy it.

Thanks for the kind replies! A trip to Ireland sounds very inviting(thank you!) but I think it will take a little time to get my riding confidence back.
Regards:Duncan

I cant think of a better way to get the confidence back....we take things slowly, leisurely breakfast, a not so fast run, a stop for tea, another run....a leisurely stop for lunch...some more miles and then some afternoon tea. We had some newcomers on our last outing on 10th August. They were mighty impressed and will be back for more.

A chance to exchange some K stories and talk about anything K or anything else too.

Welcome Duncan.  Your situation almost parallels mine: I was away from bikes for about twenty years and then bought my K100LT a few weeks ago at the age of 56.

I have already had a couple of nice rides: last Sunday I did just shy of 400 miles in a day with no serious aches or pains.  Today though the K is in the garage having the side light replaced with an LED, spotlights fitted, headlamp converted to relay operation, TPS switch fitted, oil change, oil sight glass replaced, and a couple of other little jobs I stumble across on the way.  I just love to modify and tinker; this site is the perfect place to get information on what/what not to do.
