I recently put some "S" forks on a 2V K with Progressive springs in them.  I used the shorter of the two stock spacers and the front end still rode like a f'n jackhammer. I recalled some emails I'd had with Progressive tech support a few years ago that recommended that, without the fork cap off
, the spacers should be about 3/4" above the fork tube so I cut the stock spacers roughly in half which has made the front end behavior much better. A little on the stiff side(which I prefer) but much more dialed in..

Just posting this for reference purposes.

Though I'm not currently using Progressive-brand springs in my K75 'S'  forks on my K100RS, I too have always felt that they're supplied with a far too long PVC preload spacer. I do have them on both of my Airheads, one with a K 'S' fork/wheel combo and one with the original forks. I often just cut 'em in half and call it good.

If I was the type to visit the all-you-can-eat-buffet table regularly then I might whack only a third off the spacers, but for anyone under 90 kilos (200lbs) they are simply too hard to improve the feel over the road. I use 5W fork oil for suppleness and significantly reduce the preload length that's suggested by Progressive. That works for me.
