Hi, Maybe not "yer compleat biker" but I used to ride an agile little Guzzi 175 in the 70s, now getting to know my 1990 K100rs which is a Very different experience! Still got the Guzzi btw and hoping to get it running again

Hi Geoff and welcome too.

I was doing some research on the Guzzis recently and found a few of those 175s. Nice one to put back on the road.

I love the K100 and you will find the forum great. There is a section on the home page for what to do if you have just bought a K bike. Have a look at that.

Everyone here is very helpful and any technical problems you have will find a solution here. If you put your VIN number in your signature it makes it easy for anyone offering you some solutions.

A few of us have and do meet up from time to time so if you are planning any little trips its easy to find some company.

Welcome Geoff,

Quite a weight difference between your Guzzi and K100! Handling a K100 takes a little getting used to (especially at low speed), but generally, if it doesn't feel quite right, it's probably not and there are some simple things to check (like tyre age and/or pressure). You should be able to find all the answers you may need on this site....if not ask and you'll get quality advice from all 4 corners of the world.

The site might specialise in BMW K's...but we do appreciate other bikes too - no harm in looking(!) and great pic of the Guzzi - does it still look like that?

Enjoy your new bike.

Good advice from Paul re tyres!

As for the 175 that looks like a nice megaphone. . . Shades of Dunstall about it too!! Wonder how the kj would sound with one of those on it!!

I gather the KRS is a lovely bike, hope you enjoy it.
I am in Lincs too (at the end of county going south) and have recently acquired a 1985 K75C.
By coincidence I also have a Guzzi single (Nuovo Falcone) and another German bike MZ TS150.
Hope your K is as good a ride as my 75 seems to be, which is getting back otr.
Having recently joined I'd agree members are helpful and will hopefully allow (us) to keep some K's on the road, before they turn all 'Classic'...or maybe the oilheads will mean K's get bypassed and we can enjoy these remarkable machines without prices heading to the stratosphere!

Hi all,
Thanks for the observations on handling and tyres.  Indeed, after a few hundred miles, I feel quite confident on big sweeping bends at speed; the bike encourages one to plan the line through bends rather than make it up as you go along!  But I still feel scared going round roundabouts.  It came with a square Mezler rear and a new Maxxis front.  A new Avon Roadrider rear is a 100% improvement, any opinions on Maxxiz HiMax?  Had my first problems when the ABS light started flashing and the the speedo stopped working.  Were these connected?  Very probably, as I notice both sensor cables have come out of the swing-arm clip and were catching the tyre.  Solder and heat-shrink.  Time for an all-over check of everything!
Re the Guzzi, it's a pile of bits but I've rebuilt the engine and had the forks sorted.  Still got that loud mega - more noise than power, but a surprisingly torquey little bike and dream handling...
