Greetings, I have for some time been trying to find the wiring diagram for my 92 K1100LT without luck. I feel like I have searched every dark corner of the internet but have yet to find the correct diagram. I've purchased a Clymer's which cover 1993+ models and contains their wiring diagram. Has much changed from 1991-92 models to 1993? There are different diagrams for the 93 and 94+ model years which got me thinking maybe 91-92 had there differences, can anyone provide further information.

Thanks

Marc

Thanks for the reply! I know how to use google search and I am aware of this website aswell as the other 100 results after it. This website claims that the diagram you've sent me is for 92 to 97 yet my clymers has difderent diagrams for 93 and 94 which leads me to believe that it may be incorrect. Are different model year diagrams similar enough that I can use them even though mine is a 92?

Take heart! Yours might be a '92 that's actually a '93—or vice versa  Laughing . BMW asserts that production began in '92 and Anton Largiader at Virginia Motorrad asserts that the '92 was introduced as a '93 so go with them.  Those sources can eliminate the years '91 and '92 as distractions—if you don't allow trust issues to become involved. cheers When was yours made? Nevertheless, there probably aren't significant differences that won't be obvious. Are you troubleshooting or are you building a wiring harness from scratch?

What are the last 7 digits of your bike serial number?
with this information, we can find the exact year/month when your bike was built. The sales date is irrelevant as a dealer could keep a bike on the floor for several years before selling it.

93 and prior model years are ABS I with the older Motronic. This should be applicable to your bike. 94 and later are ABS II with the newer Motronic.

There are two versions of the early K1100 LT, one with a catalytic converter and one without.  The Motronics are different and of course there's additional wiring for the cat's sensor.

Clymer wiring diagrams are crap.  Here are the *BMW* wiring diagrams for an early model LT (with cat) that I've added labels to:

Thankyou for your replies, according to my VIN it is a 92. Can't recall the exact month but the 10th digit was an N which I believe means 92.

I've purchased the bike in pieces and pretty much the only thing left to do is wiring before I try to start it up. I have the old wiring loom but having studied in electronics and being no stranger to electric circuits I tough I might try and make my own harness to keep things really clean and hide as much wiring as possible. Now I think it may be wiser to get it running first with the old loom...

Oops. I found a small part of that that hadn't been completed.  I updated it and replaced the V1.0 link above with a link to the newer V1.10 so that the link above now goes to the newer version.
