Hi All,

I’ve stripped my gearbox to paint and at the same time I thought I would replace the bearings as they are looking a little second hand!

Does anyone know the bearing numbers for the 6 internal bearings (there looks to be no numbers stamped on the originals)

I want to head off to a bearing shop and hopefully pick some up!

Have you removed all the bearings already?  If you have, and there are no numbers, any good bearing shop will be able to match them up based on measurements and from seeing what series they are.

I’ve removed the shafts and not the bearings yet. I don’t have a press so I was going to try and buy them first before I took them to the shop to swap them over.

They are very standard sizes and should cost no more that about $100 for quality like Timken or Koyo including seals. The only seal not available is the small one in the rear end of the main input shaft which is usually OK.

The numbers that Charlie has given have rs in the number which means Rubber shield so you will need to remove the shield and remove the grease. Oil and grease are not compatible and bearing damage can occur very quickly which will shorten the bearing life. I have tried several to get the bearings with a steel shield but have been unable to source them.

If you want the metal shield, although I can't see why you wouldn't use plain, unshielded bearings here. There're not spec'ed on RealOEM as shielded or sealed.

Wrong side of the world but they will ship.

yeah forgot to mention the rubber shield with the 2rs suffix , 
easily removed and degrease the grease out of them so they are plain bearings , the lubrication is generally splash feed inside the gearbox 

but they are commonly available from most bearing suppliers

I gave these numbers to the bearing shop and all good! (without the 2rs)

As some are aware, with bearing numbers, 'RS' simply means shielded, as in the bearing/grease protector, and most of those are easily removable if not spec'd or required.
