  1. My custom '85 K100RS needs a new transmission.
  2. I purchased a 1993 K1100LT transmission w low miles to replace it with.
  3. Because the bike has a custom frontend the length of the OEM clutch cable (part #32732324960 - 1,625mm long) is far longer than I need and there is a lot of extra cable wrapped under the tank to keep it out of site, but I'm guessing this a poor solution.
  4. There is another OEM clutch cable (part #32732324955 - 1,510mm in length) which shortens things at least some.
  5. I would like to use the shorter one, but was informed that shorter cable only works with K1100RS transmission and specifically not the LT transmission I have. Is this true?
  6. Is there another clutch cable out there that I could use that I'm not aware of? (I have attempted to make a custom clutch cable which was a total fail)

As always - Thank you for all the help,

Thomas

3: You're right......

5; Doesn't depend on the gearbox, because RS and LT are the same. It's the length needed for the high bar.

6: K75S, K100RS (2V and 4V) and K1100RS have the shortest OEM cables. They all fit your K.

Make your own custom cable maybe?  Paul Brodie covered it in one of his YouTube videos and it is definitely not rocket surgery.

Sorry tjh1985, completely missed the part where you mentioned that you had already tried the diy option.
