Can anybody advise the specifics or a source of the bearing that is in the side stand retract arm?  This is the arm that sits on the clutch release pin and is actuated by the clutch release arm.

OEM shows it as a complete assembly and does not list the details of the bearing

I am assuming that you are referring to item 2 on the attached parts diagram. The BMW part number is in the parts table below it.
This info is sourced from Bob's BMW Microfiche found here

Could be hard to find but at least there are some dimensions for the needle roller bearing that you could take to a bearing supply company along with the arm containing the bearing and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I have been to my local bearing supplier a few times with that sort of info and they have come up with a bearing that will fit.
If that is the part you are after let us know how you go.

Cheers

Thanks for the info.  When I managed to get the bearing out, as it was reluctant to press out easily, it measures 12x8x12.

I wonder if they have gone to the same bearing size that is used in the clutch release arm?

I managed to get a replacement from a local bearing place in Brisbane, although they had to get it from a branch in Western Australia.

Cheers, Chris.

Hi Charlie 99

Yes the clutch release arm bearings are 12x8x10 which is also what the spec Gaz supplied says the side stand retract arm bearing is.  Mine certainly measured 12x8x12 and I wonder if Bob's BMW fiche means "just use the 10mm length bearing"?

I have procured both lots of bearings from a local supplier.

Cheers, Chris.
