I am more of a motocross\off road\ trail rider kind of guy. I saw this bike at my buddies dirt bike shop and thought about a scrambler top project. Owner was asking 1k for the bike, Bike had no battery and had been sitting for two years. I grabbed the battery out of my jet-ski and strapped it in. Bike ran good even with the old gas. Made a deal and took her home.

For a thirty year old bike this rig is clean. I have changed my mind on the scrambler mods and just want to put it 100% original. Which means I need to track down a clean stock exhaust system.

Thanks to this site I already changed all the fluids/filters/spline lube etc. and fixed the tachometer.

Now I just want to touch up the paint and ride.

Welcome here Smile

Nice to see a blue one, not another silver.
Not sure about the exhaust, can you take a better picture?
Looks like an aftermarket Luftmeister.

Add an original blue bellypan, and this brick is awesome!  Cool

Thanks guys.

Here are some pics of the exhaust system. Works great, but looks tired. No writing or stamping that I can find.

Did my bike come with the lower fairing scoop? Guess I found another thing to search for.

I would be inclined to keep the exhaust and get a ceramic coating on it. Original exhaust systems are easy to find and the
header pipes will clean up really well no matter how bad they look so long as there is no damage and same with the mufflers.
Bike looks nice, could you post a close up of the lower scoops I don't recall seeing any like them before.

Original exhaust looks better, sounds better, and better performance, really!

Lower fairing was an option, but will look great on yours  Smile

Hi, new 86 k100RS from the uk

Sadly mine has had most fairing removed, BAD tank pain job, sofa seat

To cafe race it fully/partly/just get a big chunky headlight, new bars a la Yamaha xjr1300 (I like these, had many bikes)

Maybe even the Kenny Rogers yellow and black!! Naah, kidding, classic BMW gloss blue tank, twin very dark blue, twin cafe seat

Good find with your bike
