Yes. Assuming they are the same on all models.

Take off the black cap and put a socket on the end of a long extension.

Not sure of the size. >10mm

You need a 3/8 drive with a 6 inch extension and  it's a 13mm nut. A 1/2 socket can be ground down to go in but its a waste of a socket because it wont be strong enough to do any heavy work again.

thanks I figured that would be the case I wonder if you can buy the plastic caps new mine are buggered and its getting painted up so I want to make it look half pretty. I finally got to see where the throttle cable ends up on the throttle body so now I might be able to work out how to take the slack on the cable so I don't have a bit of nothing when im at low speed ie roundabouts ect it has been annoying me since I got it. thanks again

Also, are there any smaller bars available anywhere. Mine's an ex-polly bike with the bigger bars that stick out to take a spotty either side.
Alternatively, I was thinking of modifying these to a smaller shape. Anyone done that before. Mine's a little out of shape anyway as it looks like its been dropped on the L/side and skewed the bars up so now they gotta be pushed around a bit to get them on and off plus they're stressing the hole in the fairing where it goes thru.

Cheers

I had the narrow ones on my K100 but like any of those bars they are hard to get.  I ended up getting a set from merka for the K1100

Me too…  and I'm none the wiser.
As usual I've missed something like 'the point' or 'the joke'.

Many Aussies found George Dubya Bush's saying Merken Moxy meaning American Democracy with that Texas Drawl very amusing to the point where America aka United States of America is often now referred to as Merka.

I originally googled Merka and just now I googled 'merken' and got a good laugh
www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=merken

However I think the correct spelling is merkin.

Stock bars are a tighter fit but these bars seem to be a real rarity. Whats even rarer are the mounting brackets for them. I only got a spare set because I got lucky, @ $30.00 in online auction. The guy didn't know what he had. Then I purchased a whole nother bike for the engine it had in it after mine failed and that bike had a set so now I have a set on the bike and a set in the shed. New price on them from the dealer here in NZ is $1500.00 a set. Modifying bars is expensive too, especially if you want a pro look, by the time you get them rechromed your up for, like 3 - 4 hundred
