I decided to take the very heavy ABS unit off my K100RS, had been riding for 47 years without ABS....it seemed simple enough to remove a few wires and reconnect the brake hose that originally went to the ABS unit directly to the rear brake caliper...has this been done by others, or am I simply crazy...

I have a '94 75RT which came with the ABS modules in a bucket (Klompy's yellow bucket).  If you just tuck all the extra wiring up out of the way all should be good.  This will save cutting the wrong wire off and creating headaches.

It appears on my bike that after market brake lines were manufactured and all works well.

The only thing to be wary of is as the ABS units double up as a guard to prevent your pillion's feet getting caught in the rear wheel.  Best to either manufacture a guard or fit standard foot guard supports with the little guard in place.

Yes I dealt with the wire connection and carefully tucked away the ABS plug and also fabricated a foot guard for the pillion....I did notice some aftermarket braided rear brake hoses on ebay and might try one of those even though the standard brake line just fits and seems to work ok after bleeding the rear brake.....bugga though I found that the rear brake master cylinder is leaking slightly even after taking it off and doing a careful clean out....thanks again for the info
