I have recently inherited a 96 K1100LT from a dearly loved uncle who very muched enjoyed his BMWs. He and my aunt traveled across America on his first BMW. I feel honored and blessed that he wanted me to have his latest BMW. I'm looking forward to many adventures with it.

Welcome  to the forum.

Anything you need to know is here, somewhere. Have a look at the home page, what to do if you have just got a K [read K100 K1100 or K75 for that].

If it has been off road for a while have a good look at the tyres.....a K does not like old tyres and the date is coded on the side [week/year like this week is 0216]. Anything older than 2011 bin them even if they look ok.

Post up some photos and a little bit of history, like when it was used etc. They are  great bike and great fun and you might get to meet a few others down your way.

Thanks for the kind greetings.
Also I will heed your advise on the tires even though I really hate to replace what looks to be brand new tires,the bike has been sitting up for about six years. I have a little bit of work to do on it before I take it out on the road. The bike is red and only has 30,000 miles on it. As soon as I learn my way around the forum I will post some pictures.

The old tires are trying to trick you - they only look good. Ozone among other things we breathe eat rubber...

Toss them before we read of your 'accident'   Evil or Very Mad 

Here those tires wouldn't pass inspection, the damn inspectors have learned to read Rolling Eyes
