No wrench, no fun Cool

The woman on the bike bought it from me, she is the older sister of the dude on the right.
From him I bought the K1100, met her too yesterday, she still likes the bike Smile

Another Poxy Project.! Best of luck with it.

I really liked the K1100 when I tried it out for 88 back in December. He seems to be loving it.

Not for me though. I now this week have my K100RT that I can finally get both feet flat on the ground. This is a big change from when I could not get both feet to the ground at the same time on the much heavier LT.

Thanks all Smile

Have 4 K now, 2 75RT for spare parts, 1 75S as my ultimate bugger (see other topic of me) and this 1100LT, wich is a RS with LT fairing.
Little bugs removed, also some wires wich lead to nothing.
Got it running, still needs some attention.

Got my electric windshield going....But still 1 relais RIP, will replace both.
Missing the switch, but got a nice replacement.
Part of the loom had to create myself (or find one, but it's rare).

Things to do;
- Place plastics back.
- Secure battery.
- Replace brake main cilinder front.
- Check rear brake, doesn't work quite well, but who needs it?

Pics will follow Smile

Yes that's the LT's opulent seat alright, would you change it to a regular thus easier to slide back on seat.

I agree with the failings of the comfort seat. Put a K1100LT 1993 seat onto my K100RT 1984. Hated it. Like sitting on an underfilled vinyl bean bag. Worse though was riding in traffic and having to put the feet down repeatedly - my knees kept getting caught behind the fairing. I'm 181cm tall. Maybe the layout of the K1100 is different to the K100. Never again.

And speaking of "another one followed me home" my single car garage is at saturation point. The K100RT project nearing the end. Outside under a car cover is the K1100LT. Stashed at my mates are two more recent acquisitions: a K100RS 1983, and a (not sure really) a K100RS 83-84 bitsa. I tell myself that I can break up the bitsa and recoup the $500 they cost me. Ah the justifications we give ourselves to gather more shite.

Questions to be posted elsewhere:
WTB: K1100LT 1993 front brake master cylinder

K100RS runs but is leaking oil on top of the motor. Airfilter housing was not attached (not sure about the plenum chamber above the throttle bodies ... Blowing a fair bit of white smoke). Is there any plumbing of the oil that, if incorrect, should put it on top of the motor? Any other ideas?

Not urgent but will be onto this these holidays...once I work out a plausible story for the (long suffering) wife.

Regards

Guy
