sorry to hold you kind folk up , I'm just getting some guidance as to adding some good music to the video . Will be with you shortly .

Hi all !
I was away from the forum for a few weeks; I am shocked by this news.

Allthough we never met in person: Rossko was a top-bloke, always helpfull and 'in' for a good joke.
God bless, Rossko !! You will be truly missed...

Been having a bugger of a time trying to add music to this slideshow .
Before you hit the play button , download these tracks and you will appreciate the effect much better.
With Rosskko being a heavy metal fan , I chose these two from the forum files.

Sound of silence by Disturbed, start at beginning of slide.
This was recently posted up by Smithy on one of his rides through the hills of the Northern Tablelands.
listen to the words , I find it very fitting , almost a haunting feel.

Long way to the top by AC-DC Start at 5:00 mins.as the sidecars reach the blue sign .
This song was taken from RossKKo's posting in his thread on Smurfette, as he was doing the clutch and rear main seal.
" Riding down the Highway " , a great way to start our final approach.

now that you've done all of that , go to post #119 for the shortcut version .

Nice one Ed.

Without music (I have the same difficulty due to YouTube and copyright issues), you get an interesting commentary from the hearse driver and his wing man. Don't think they realised that the camera did sound too!

Great turn out for a great bloke.

Well done to all riders that made it along and especially to Klompy for taking the very difficult lead, hearding the Kats and keeping us all informed along the way.

sorry Paul and Bert.we used a free Convert to mp3 site. said it was legal. Took me 16 hours to get it going with music here . sad to hear . there is the previous option , just not the same quality.
I've altered the video slightly as well . I might repost the new version , less the music so you see what we see. must get some sleep first . It is around 2am Sunday morning here . goodnight all .
Can I flick anyone over there the file.

The blocking is due to Sony Music Entertainment exercising copyright over anything they believe might have been published by them. It is the same issue that is causing many of Chris Harris workshop videos to be blocked because he has background music on some of them.

Cheers

The forum had paid a subscription to DriveHQ and nobody used it....
Check the download page and you will find the login credentials.
This may be the solution to bypass copyright on background music.

CF, PM sent .
Smithy thanks for the music .
Youtube has been failing my uploads due to duplicate copies already in the system , regardless of music source . So I have deleted a few of the previous attempts .
The only one in the system is the non- music version where you can add your own music .
Each upload takes about an hour , so I keep trudging on , and all the time thinking what would Rosskko be saying about now.
Not giving in yet . damn you youtube ........ The saddest of news - Page 3 259495

! was wondering what the "SME" was in there for , I thought it was because the issue  "ISME"

Rosskko's "Last Ride" , escorted by the Krew of the K100 forum .
Many rides in the group were accompanied by Rosskko's camera skills, this is his final video.
Known as the "Raingod amongst our group , as he always brought it with him, the rain was most welcome at the start of our ride.
Heavy metal was in his veins , so the following music was chosen. listen to the words carefully.

Track #1 "Sound of Silence" by Disturbed brings a haunting note to the departure from his home.

Track #2 One of Rosskko's many postings on the forum included his enjoyment in seeing AC-DC in concert.
" Its a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll", a classic remark .
Starts appropriately with " Riding down the Highway .............. heading to a show ........  it's a long way to the top if you want to Rock'n'Roll" as we ascend the park grounds  to the chapel.

On 6 June 2014 , Rosskko penned his own version of " leaving on a jet plane" , as " leaving on a K bike."taken from his many experiences with his bikes.
This has been placed at the end of the video , with a last glance as he rides off. Always in our memories .

music has been removed due to copyright .    The saddest of news - Page 3 61740

Ok, let's see if I have managed to finally circumvent that pesky SME blocker - somewhat convoluted method, editing backing track in Garageband and saving as an MP3 file before attaching to video footage, then saving as a MP4 file and finally uploading to Youtube.

Sorry around the wobbly camera - downside of sticking it to your helmet, but nowhere else to stick it on a nekkid RT.Smile

This was from the ride with Rosskko, Indian036 and WarrenC from Rosskko's place to the Pie In The Sky via the Berowra Waters ferry. Probably Rossko's last ride with the Krew.

If you select that little gear cog thing at the bottom right, you should be able to switch to 1080HD..seems to default to 360.

About 10 minutes, long, so grab yourself a whisky (or whiskey if you prefer), settle back and enjoy (if it works and isn't blocked by the damn ©️

Glad to hear that the video works - complete with sound track. I got the hint about saving to MP4 before up loading to Youtube from Smithy, thanks mate - finally cracked it. The original version was 25 minutes long (far too long) and You Tube refused to upload it, with or without sound track. As Ed will know, it is quite a time consuming process and very frustrating when it doesn't work or gets blocked.

As with all good things on this 'ere forum, there is always someone out there able to help - no matter what the problem is either though technical savvy, pragmatic know how or just a little encouragement or appreciation. By taking the time to make the video, I have learnt a huge amount about using various software tools and trying to bring them together.

Thanks for the positive comments Ed, Klompy & Bert.

Bert - the opening lines kind of provided the focus for me when choosing the sound track, I guess it is a question that we all consider now and again when thinking whether we add value to other peoples lives. Your new thread is a cracking idea - wonder where "Rosskko" will turn up next?

+1 on that Dai. A powerful version that suits the footage and the mood perfectly - an excellent choice

After watching Smithy's video for the third time, I just had to go and down load a copy of the track on iTunes - now to go and upload it to all my devices (car, bike GPS, iPod, phone....) and crank up the volume!

Well done Paul, great video I enjoyed watching that and the sound track was great.
Yes it's a bit of trial and error getting the sound tracks on sometimes, but yes I find that saving the music on the computer in mp3 mp4 then uploading onto you tube works for me.

Thanks too for the lovely posts and photos.

I was away for a few days K camping but went to visit a few places we had in mind for Rosskko and Sandra for the visit here that they never got to make.

Bill made it up there in 2015 and if anyone else does Kome over this way we will happily take a trip up to SallyGap.

Cant guarantee the weather, every time I have been up there in recent years it has been sunny but memories of childhood trips there convinced me it always rained up there. Never quite understood parents' philosophy on a Sunday drive in bucketing rain but hey it might have been Rosskko lining up a trip.

G'Day all, I have been away for a while and now regret it having just today heard the sad news.

Although I only met him once, quite briefly actually, I feel I "knew" RossKKo well, in a way that so many of you

have expressed so eloquently with your posts.

To his family and close friends please add my wish to celebrate his life for the positive effect he had on so many

folk from all over the world... say no more.. nudge, wink.

Ghost

G'day all,

Been away fro a while as well.

This is sad news indeed. What a great bloke was Rossko, Only met him a few times, but each time it seemed, he was offering help and advice all with a joke and a smile.

My K has sat unridden for a while now and I'm moving out of Sydney, to semi retirement. The K is coming with me, and I will resurrect and re rego the old girl soon. I had attached to this forum, Rossko's wit and happy advice. I am genuinely saddened that it will no longer be here.

My sincere condolences to his family and close friends, as if we miss him as much as is evident here. Their loss must be 10 fold.

RIP mate. Sad

Farewelling our good mate RossKKo.
With the postponement of the annual Far Kairn Rally hosted by the BMW Touring Club , a decision was made to ride with RossKko to Mount Panorama to honour him in a respectful gathering .
During the ride to the 2013 Far Cairn Rally , to help celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the K series . RossKKo with other forum Krew visited Bathurst, RossKKo in particular was overwhelmed with the experience due to his passion of Holden motor racing . He undertook the ritualistic lap of Mount Panorama and a glimpse through the museum. He was in Heaven .
This is very much a fitting and worthy place to Remember RossKKo.

Absent friends ,
The saddest of news - Page 3 Kklomp10

opening of the receptacle kontaining RossKKo was not without its difficulties.
Words resounding RossKKo  were uttered , " Waz , bloody hurry up mate"
eventually assisted by a pair of klippers. A few moments in silence and then followed by the release of RossKKo to the Mountain .

Thanks to Holister for capturing some memorable moments of the day
Should you take the time to watch the BIG race held in Bathurst during October every year. Say Hi to RossKKo .
This place of rest is located near Caltex Korner on the high side overlooking the " Mount Panorama " sign .

The saddest of news - Page 3 Group_10

As can be seen here , the skies reflected RossKKo's force as the Raingod here on this forum .
Smurfette thoroughly enjoyed the weekend amongst many of the Krew along with some great roads , including the rather nice track Holister guided us through as we returned to Sydney .
Gaz ventured along the Bylong Valley , another top spot to ride and get lost in ones thoughts .
The saddest of news - Page 3 Img_6214

On our return journey home we dropped in to see the Three Sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains .
and then it was into Woolloomooloo for some time at Harry's Bike Night.
The saddest of news - Page 3 Img_6310

A very memorable day out as we gave tribute to a good mate ... RossKKo.
I hear there may be further thoughts at hand , possibly a memorial stone to be laid , which might include a BBQ and campout on the Mountain .
I'm sure plans will be revealed later .

As also posted in the ride thread, the contributions towards GIST research from the Rosskko Ride South were passed on to the Life Raft foundation.

USD200 = AUD262.
Thanks to all who contributed, including one especially generous donor.

Some details redacted for my privacy, but nowhere was my name included - only K100 forum.

Nice tribute Ed.

Thanks Bill - Great to see that the ride raised a tidy sum for the Life Raft group, in memory of Rosskko.

As Rosskko wouldn't take any payment for the use of his bike during my visit in April, I made a personal donation to the Life Raft group charity, in his memory, back in May. A bottle of Whisky for the use of a K bike for a week just didn't seem enough and, given the circumstances, a suitably sized donation felt absolutely right.

Fantastic to see that the whisky is also being used to keep his memory alive as a fitting filling to the Rosskko hip flask!

The saddest of news - Page 3 Gist10

Here's hoping that all our donations fund the research and make the difference that they need to.

As I missed my chance of a drink with the Krew in June , it was good to take the opportunity with KKlompy last weekend , and be given the privilege to pass the " RossKKo" flask on at the next ride . I'm guessing our ride to Smithy's will avail such an opportunity.

While I was enjoying the Kompany on the Northern Ride, (Thanks again, smithy) this acknowledgement letter arrived.

I was also pleased to be able to partake in a little of the contents of the RossKKo Hip Flask, along with others, at smithy's place.

It should be mentioned, since I understand it was requested the flask travel solely by motorbike, and as I'm leaving Sunday arvo by jet plane, upon repairing the RS' busted off shockie stud, Rick and I had a ceremonial passing of the flask, and it is in his good hands til the next passing.
