Steve. FYI, BMW take the Bosh part no. for the FICU and add 1361 to the front. This helps when you are searching realoem.com for part numbers.

The correct FICU oem part no. for a 1992 K100 with Catalytic conver is #13611464649 so you'd be looking for a Bosch part no. #1464649

It was superseded by #13611464717 in 05/93 and is not backwards compatible so you don't want that one.

Other models suitable which are compatible retrospectively are 13611464607 and 13611464491

Part no. 13611464649 was also used in K1100RS & RT from 06/89 to 04/99.

Best you check the info out for yourself
This is the link to the parts list for the throttle assembly and control unit.
This is the link to the part cross-reference.

Hope this helps.

thanks nigel its all a bit confusing for a newcomer to FI systems but it wont have a catalytic converter or abs so ill just leave the plug for abs not connected and remove the 2 abs relays from the relay housing i have a couple of ECU's on watch with the 0-261-200-250 bosch number on the id plate  but i remember the listing saying they were for cat / kat  so not sure if they will be of any use . Its not urgent at this stage so no panic and i had confirmation back from bmw motorrad in munich saying that that the mbm098745 number does'nt ring a bell [ probably for an overseas market ] but the serial number does and have confirmed the motor was produced on the 38 week of 1990 ie; 12th of september and was installed into a frame and subsequently exported to australia so thats a step in the right direction thanks for the info mate best regards     steve

Steve, another quick search on realoem shows that for a non-Kat FICU you can use any of these Bosch part no.s
1464479*
1464417*
1464288
1464289
*The first two are later model Motronics so I would favour one of those for your '92 16V

A later version 1464710 - supersedes all the above but is not backwards compatible

Like with the Kat versions, these were also used on the K1100 RS and LT

All this info is on realoem

These non-Kat FICUs were used on the police bikes.

So, to answer your question....
i have been offered a ECU from a '92-'93 k1100 lt if it has the same bosch number - as the 16v will it be compatible with the 1000cc
Yes., but just check. It should be one of the four part numbers listed above.

Good luck with this mate.

Find out what he wants for it but I fear the freight may be way too much. Yeah, I was thinking of putting a paralever on the back of my 'Old Girl' but now I have the 1100 that mod is now not so important. She run out of rego this weekend and is in mothballs now till I can get to her next year. Cheers

You'll need to use the appropriate ECU for the engine harness based on whether you're using an O2 sensor in the exhaust or the manual adjustment pot. I have a spare pot I would give up, and may have an early '93 (late '93 all manner of things changed, Motronically) ECU in my stash. Be sure you have the ignition module where necessary, as well. I have one of those, too. I'll be back in Brissie on the 29th of September.

hi twb yeah im just putting together bits at the moment i was already to drop the k100 2v motor and k1100 g-box and paralever FD into frame then bought this 4valve motor from halo so now back to getting the appropriate bits [mainly electrical] to complete the change over , i picked up a 1990 /1991 k100rs 4v main loom from the UK , and a super clean low klms ignition control unit from the farterland , and now tonight a set of 4valve ignition coils again from the farterland [45euros posted ] all i need now is an ECU and some ignition leads , as you might of read hollister has been helping out with the different ecu's that are compatible for my engine , theres a 1993 k1100 lt being wrecked in perth and hopeful it will produce the right ECU , the other thing thats got me thinking is the main loom has the wires and the big multi plug for the cursed ABS , twb do i unravel the tape and separate the wires down to the abs relays and remove them as well then re tape it back up , or just pull the relays out an tuck the multiplug up some where as i'd like to keep the wiring fairly tidy etc so back to brissie for the spring how appropriate eh !! well im keen to see photos of the big block your putting together  well time to slide into the ol' fart sack mate cheers and best regards   woodcutter

oh and keep me in touch about the '93 ecu when you get back to oz, and i wont be running abs or o2 sensors  either

Sorry mate, I hadn't read that post. It turns out the ECU (correct number for your model) is not in OZ but back in Tacoma. No luck this time, but I'll dig thru my shed when I get back after the 6th of November and if postage isn't abysmally high I can send it over. I don't need much for it. Sorry about not paying attention. The Summer off, the travels, this trip, etc., has had me spinning, distracted. Good to be home relaxing for six weeks, though. I look forward to visiting my rellies around Clunes. I have a photo of my old airhead down the bottom of the Grampians several years ago, Mt Thackeray, to be precise, my surname.

all good  i thought you might of overlooked it with all the excitement of returning to oz etc etc etc , so theres no rush on the ecu i can wait till you return to the states and see what turns up and if you have one there i will fix you up for it and postage i already have  the ignition control module to suit it  the motor is from halo's collection  and is a 1990-1992 k100 RS 16v running 0280-150-705 injectors . And if you have some time to kill before the MOTO-GP and feel up to a hop step and jump to the west side of the grampians you would be made most welcome , [charlie 99 and i had a long yak one night and discussions re 4 pintle upgrade injectors as i have purchased a set  and was discussing their merits in a 4v motor , and he said he was going to catch up with you upon your return ], so anyway i reside between horsham and cavendish on the henty hwy, if you get an inclination to visit time permitting, oh & Mt Thackeray is nice   have a safe trip down and enjoy the race ciao steve  K100 RS 16V ECU 447221 K100 RS 16V ECU 112350  here's a few photos of what i'm up to and the view from my back door , my current ride , and workshop  beats city living anyday .K100 RS 16V ECU Utf-8_10

Holister, Thanks in advance. Would you be so kind and give me your opinion. I see you know about this ECUs. I have a 1992 K100RS 16v with cat. want to remove the original exhaust and is said bike will run very Rich because the Ecu is for the bike with cat. Can i fit the ECU from a RS 16v without cat? bike does not star and i am looking for a ECU. Can not find it but there is one for the No cat bike and would be perfect to fit other exhaust. the number from the part i am looking on net is 0 261 200 250 and the one on my bike is 0 261 200 270 and a bunch of another numbers.
Please do you think it could fit ? Appreciated. Best Regards. JR

The best thing to do is to enter your VIN into www.realoem.com and find the exact Motronic for your bike. Click on the part number and it will take your to a compatibility page with a few possible alternate part numbers.
