A non-forum friend of mine has recently showed me his installation of a new radiator fan for his K100RS and asked if I would like to share it with the forum. It is very similar to the SPAL fan installs that we have seen before except that this fan fitted into the OEM fan mounting housing which eliminated making new mounts and sorting out the exact location for mounting.

He bought the fan off eeebay in Oz at the buy it now price of $45.00, free postage. It can be seen at this link.

He said he had to grind off the mounting lugs on the fan and sand the ridge out of the BMW housing but after that it pressed in without much effort. Here are a few photos.

Usually with a bit of hunting about you will find the same fan on fleabay.de

Those fans are pretty common.  I have one in one of my bricks(can't remember which one right now).   When I did mine I just ground the ears off the Spal and pop riveted into the original housing after I cut it to allow it to expand around the Spal frame.

Your friend's installation looks cleaner albeit a bit more labor intensive.  Plus side is that it doesn't require ovalizing the upper mounting hole on the frame.
