Hello All:

I have been a motorcyclist off & on for over 40 years, with time off for college & marriage.

Former motocross & flat tracker, I own 10+ bikes including street trackers,  MX, dual sport, sport touring & touring.

My latest acquisition is a very rough 1992 BMW K100RS, hence my coming to this forum.

Welcome!  I've had two of them and firmly believe that they are among the nicest bikes ever made.  I hope you plan to restore it back to factory glory rather than hack off the rear frame loop.

Never! I plan on cleaning/painting/repairing bags & bodywork.
Oh Yeah, the ABS does not work either, even after the reset. I will probably remove it.

Removing it is always an option...but not the only option. The ABS brain won't reset until the fault condition(s) is(are) rectified - you need to determine what fault code(s) is first and then try to clear the fault and then perform the reset. It can be a little frustrating if you have more than one fault. Even then, sometimes it can take a few goes at resetting it.

Plenty of info buried on this 'ere forum to help guide and advise you. The search function works well.

Enjoy
