So I’m planning on adding this k1200 gas cap to my k100 cafe tank. I’ll need to do some notching but love the look. Anyone done this yet?

Also, I have the ignition switch and would love to use 1 key. This will also free up an ignition switch/ gas cap combo for someone in need.

My electrical ninjas...will this be possible?

I assume you are going to notch the tank mounting ring to get the cap level with the tank. Would it not be better to machine the mounting stubs down.  Then you could redrill the mounting ring to suit. It's hard to tell from your picture whether it's wide enough to do this.
Regards Martin.

If you have the K1200 ignition switch then I'm sure it would be fairly easy to graft it to the antique K.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the K1200 ignition?

What are the colors of the wires for the K12 ignition switch?  Bosch is pretty good at standardizing wiring colors.

This is a much more logical and less invasive idea! I’ll probably need to use the bottom half of my original gas cap as this is the k1200’s:

After MartinW’s idea I found this big ass rubber grommet to sandwich inbetween the soon to be shaved Cap and tank.

Seems a lot easier than buying that other plastic tank and cutting it up.
