I have a 89 k100 that needs a new front tire. I currently have a set of Metzlers that have weather cracked. Can anyone suggest something better or should replace with the same thing ?Embarassed

I used Metzelers untill I found that Bridgestone BT045s were just so much better but you need to run them at 38 - 40 psi or they will scallop on the tread because of the dual compound. I got much better mileage from them as well.
Being an 89 K100 it could be a LT or RS 16v. If it's a RS then I would recommend the Michilin Pilot Road 2 or 3.
Good idea to put an intro post in the new members section and what bike you have so we all know the right answer.
By the way welcome to the forum.

I totally agree with this post - I run Bridgestone BT045's on both my K bikes but as mentioned already, the tyre pressures need to be kept just right or you will get the "scalloping" effect kicking in and that can really be quite alarming - serious wheel wobbles on the overrun especially. However, if you keep the tyre pressures checked regularly (I run mine at 38PSI front, 40PSI rear) then they give longevity and great handling and overall good value for money Wink

Welcome to the forum by the way Laughing
