Hi All,
just acquired a 1989 K100RT, in reasonable mechanical condition and has been generally looked after but is showing its age cosmetically and it needs a bit of TLC. Nothing bad mind you, I got it for a fair price and it goes well so I'm happy Smile

Just sold my 1200 sportster and will be looking at a 103 road king in the future (yeah, go on, I know ... boooo Very Happy ) so this is an 'in between bikes' bike but I always wanted a BMW and I can now tick it off the list (the first road bike I ever had a ride on when I was 16 was an R51/3!). I've also owned a couple of Triumphs but prefer a bigger bike for touring.

It's been a long time since I've ridden a four cylinder bike so it's taking a bit of getting used to riding at higher rev's and while the bike does go well I do miss the torque and the lazy rev's of the big twins.

Anyway, that's the mandatory intro out of the way, I'm sure I'll have some questions once I start giving the bike a thorough going over to get it up to scratch.

cheers,
Mick

Cheers, it certainly is, took the brick for a run over the mountain loop on the weekend. It's a nice run for a quick 100kms of mostly nicely paved mountain passes, just a shame all the pubs are shut at the moment, without a beer break at a couple of the water holes on the way the run was over pretty quickly Smile
