I need to replace the stanchion due to pitting and i've been quoted nearly £500 . I found a site called motobins has anyone used them or know anything about them? From the looks of the site i buy a reconditioned set send mine off and get money back but I'm worried they wont be any good any advice would be helpful.

By the way, I'm a new member here but didn't bother introducing myself before jumping right in with my problem...

Motorbins,iv never had dealings with so can not comment.Motorworks are my company of choice.£500 seams high plus new seals etc,worth giving them a ring
or buy a full set of USED forks they will give you all the info you need over the phone

Motobins have been great for me in the past until our exchange rate tanked. You won't have to worry about that. I've had no trouble using them. Might get a few more knowledgeable answers soon.

You can also get them stripped re-chromed and ground to size. I seem to recall Mansfield Hard Chrome as being one.

I've had Guzzi stanchions done by them and can attest that they are good quality but... the finished price was not far short of a new set and they didn't last much longer than a new set either. I was disappointed in that regard.

Motobins are fine. No issues whatsoever. A customer for more than fifteen years.
Motorworks Bmw are also a good source of parts.

Have you considered buying another pair of used but good forks? There are plenty available for less than £500, usually much less!
