Hello and thanks for having me!

Been working on an 87 K75C for the past few months taking everything apart and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Did only a few small repairs but really just a ton of cleaning. I'm moving this upcoming week and have been pushing to get it just turned on with the bare necessities so that I can get it into the moving truck later this week. Didn't have enough time/budget to get the new controls and speedo to get it all wired up. So I'm trying to re-use the original right controls just for the Start button and the original ignition switch. I'll be replacing these anyways after the move so if there is another suggestion to use a different means then I'm all for it since it will be temporary.

What I have currently tried so far, there are four wires out of ignition control.
-Grey - which I was under impression was for speedo/tach. So it's not connected to anything.
-Green - goes into right control connection, not sure if that needs to be connected somewhere on the other end.
-Red - Which I originally tried into the Lock on the m.unit first and then tried on the BAT on the m.unit on the second pass.
-Blue/Grey - Tried on the Start input first and left unconnected on the second pass with the black/yellow wire on the Start input on the second pass.

I hope this helps and I'll be messing with it all day to try to get it going but again, will not be riding it for the time being. Just need to get it started so that I can get it into the moving truck in a few days.

Appreciate any and all help!

Welp. Couldn't figure out the right wires to use for the ignition switch and just ended up sending power straight from the battery into the m.unit. And found the left turn signal button and used that as my 'start' button since this is just temporary so I can get the bike into the moving truck later this week.

If anyone who comes across this in the next couple days does know the right combination then I'd love to get it situated as the my current setup for turning it on is quite janky even if it is temporary.

Get some friends, and a comealong with a tow strap if necessary, to help you roll the moto into then truck box after you've emptied the fuel from the tank then secure it to the front of the box. You'll need to roll it out of the truck without power anyway. Wait until you have time to be more analytical in your new location. Cobbling together an electrical system in a rush without an understanding of its connections is a recipe for trouble.

Do you have a wiring schematic for your moto's model and year?

I do but noticed that it's not the best quality as some wires between pages don't match up accurately. It's a Clymer manual if I'm not mistaken. I'm good for now though, as mentioned this is extremely temporary as I'll disconnect all the connections that I'm going to replace once I finish my move. I have another moto that I'll be riding in the meantime. Saw a couple posts in the past from those that have made the m.unit upgrade but I'll be changing out my controls and ignition switch eventually which will make the wiring much easier.

You don't have friends? Is that why you're moving?  Laughing  Steady onward; things will improve; however, I still don't support your plan; what starts janky often stays janky. Carry an ABC fire extinguisher and Nomex suit along for the ride.  Very Happy
