It is probably due to the few number of posts you've made, but I cannot confirm that. I suggest a coupla more posts. It is not a locked thread.
I will try to follow it through, but meantime, it is accessible to me and to most members.

Minimum five posts, IIRC, but I also recall that Bert discussed making it as high as ten at one point.

Please excuse my lack of understanding... why does a forum section exist that is only for members who post above a defined number of posts?
I read everything I can on here, but I will only post if I have something that genuinely adds to the knowledge base (including a properly worded and clear question if I can't work it out myself). I see too much B%$#!hit on forums (admittedly not too much here) and won't add to that with information or opinions that don't have HONEST/GENUINE/EXPERIENCE-BACKED information. Also, there are too many forum posts that are aimed at showing how much the poster knows and often downplay the the value of information and/or opinions of those who MAY know less...
I have 35 motorcycles presently, and have owned about 140+ in my nearly 50 years of biking. I'm still learning...

It stops most of the trolls gaining access by ensuring only those interested in sticking around will be using the resources.Navigator wrote:Please excuse my lack of understanding... why does a forum section exist that is only for members who post above a defined number of posts?

It filters out those who come here to troll the members or promote/advertise stuff that doesn't interest the members.
Have you ever been on a forum where you get the women bragging about how the make thousands of dollars posting crap a couple hours a day? You don't see that stuff here. I think the threshold for posting photo is 10 posts.

Ug sits round the fire ring listening to his fellow Ugs rattle on. Ug learns, even if he often has nothing to grunt in response. It's a community, and some grunt, while others sit quietly, only occasionally offering up something about the recent animal hunt or gathering of roots. All of us have stared into the flames, as we likely have for several hundred thousand millenia. When a wanderer arrives, we don't know whether he poses friendship or danger. But we might allow him to sit by the fire a while too, and prove his worth to the community.
