Hello, I recently purchased a 1989 K100rs and have been going over the bike just to check everything is all right. I found under the right hand side panel ( just by the coolant tank ) the electrical connection where the wires appear to have been cut. Can anyone identify what this is? the bike seems to run fine, but should i connect this back up? Hopefully I have added a couple of photos to show the wires.

A prior owner shorted the side stand switch connector so that the bike will run with the side stand deployed. Not uncommon.

There's no connector that looks like that on a 2V K100. You can also tell from the pictures that it has a Motronic, not L-Jetronic, control unit.
