I'm a long time rider, originally of airhead R-bikes. I commuted on them for years before switching to a k12 for commuting and the R-bikes for fun. 

Somewhere along the way I borrowed a friend's naked K100 and rode it around Germany, loved it. Recently I adopted a project K100 and riding it reminded how much I really enjoy them! I've wrenched my R-bikes quite a bit and K12 somewhat; this new project will definitely have me calling on help and advice on a few points. It's an 85 K100RT with an RS fairing installed, and ready to be made ready for its second childhood; i can relate.

Pic is the day I brought it home, have replaced mirrors and side covers already.

be careful when ordering parts online. early vs late model year 1985.
several changes unique to early ‘85.
ask me how I know. $$$$ mistakes.
