Since I bought my 88 RS last year, it has had a minor problem, in that the Left Hand indicators seem to flash about twice as fast as the Right Hand Indicators. When using the four way flashers they operated correctly, at the same speed.

After a four hour run out on the bike yesterday, decided to sort it and on checking all the flasher bulbs, found that the front left was only a 10 watt bulb, whereas all the others were 21 watt.

Fitted a new 21 watt and all now works as it should. Result Very Happy

Cheers

Bryan

Thanks to some goose that thinks one bulb is as good as another. Good find

As we have discussed before we cannot trust previous owners to have done the right thing used the right filter or oil in the gearbox or final drive etc. With a new bike it pays to check everything is standard.

The PO of my bike was an elderly gent who had developed terminal cancer, he had the bike for 12 years and only agreed to sell on my promise to look after "Katie". A week later when browsing through all the papers that came with the bike, I found a letter addressed to the "new owner" explaining in detail all works and a routine check list, not often you get that type of care on an old bird, there is no evidence but I think he might have even slept with her. :silent:

"K" owners do appear to be quite obsessed with maintenance/service records etc. I know when I bought my 1984 K100, the PO presented me with all of the service records (official and otherwise) from the day the bike rolled off the production line. All old MOT's and receipts for parts etc. were also included with the bike. I guess it is a "K Bike" thing Wink
