Just one question I am rebuilding k100 final drive unit and was wondering what bearing fix loctite i should use on the large bearing as seems to be so many different opinions.

Normaly Loctite isn`t used on this bearing............but if you want to be on the safe side I think Loctite 601 would be a good choice.

I wouldn't be using loctite on that bearing. If it is needed then the case is worn and should not be used. The bearing should be a tap fit or go in freely when the housing is heated to 120degC.

Rick G is correct, I'm afraid that if the housing fit for the ball bearing has been compromised Loctite retaining compound is not the answer. The FD unit needs to be replaced. Look for one on Fleabay I would suggest.

Very Happy Very Happy ok thanks for advice a least i know now thanks. The bearing was tight coming out so thing will be ok will leave loctite off.Very Happy Smile
