Hi guys, anyone managed to repair the front brake light switch on a K100? Lubricated mine a few times to get it working but is now dead. The soldered wiring is intact, so presume plunger contact is not working.

you might be able to take the switch out so that you could orient it so that you could get some wd40 in there and stay there whilst activating the plunger ,,,this might clean up the contacts a bit easier ?  afterwards clean the wd 40 out of the mechanism with some electronic cleaner carbi cleaner so that it doesn't coagulate into a non conductive goo ...your trying to flush out all the crap that loosens .
but its not an uncommon thing that they do fail ...usually cause they don't get regular servicing ....till they become intermittent

If you have a working choke light, then swap the switch on the end of the TB rail with the brake switch.  Not having a working choke light is less impactive than having a non-working brake light.

I guess i would like to keep my choke switch as it works, just wiggled the wires behind the brake switch, and hey presto it came on for a second then went out, so probably a break in the wire. At least the plunger works, so a new feed wire coming up. just have to find the connector hidden inside  the fairing somewhere.
Nice to have a cheap fix  for once.
