I know it is only Europe and not the other parts of the world, but this may give an idea of distances we have in Australia that are covered by the Aussie forum members.

I saw a similar map for Africa - they had Europe, China, North America, Arabia and some other odds and sods all fit into it - awesome.

Thats scarey to see. I have visited my brother twice, who lives near Horsham, Vic. and has picked me up from Melbourne. 200ish miles, just down the road mate he said!! John

Our bigges cattle station Elizabeth Downs which has since been broken up was 110 miles from the homestead to the front gate and was just a touch bigger than Texas.
Victoria is considered to be a small state and UK would fit into it 3 times I think or it may have even been 4 I'm not sure.
I met a couple who were sharing a house with some German back packers in Brisbane and they woke up one Saturday morning to the back packers loading lots of gear into an early 70s wagon and when enquiring where they were moving on to they were told we are going to Darwin and will be back Sunday night. They hadn't quite come to grips with the size of the place.
Brisbane to Darwin just over 3000k.

But where is Finland??

It doesn't really exist it was put on the maps as a joke by the French. They never did have a sense of humour.
